Your HVAC System

First, make sure that your HVAC system is inspected to make sure it is working properly. Your HVAC system needs constant attention and maintenance to ensure that it will last for many years. If you take care of your HVAC system regularly, you’ll add more time to the life of the system, and you won’t run into problems during a home inspection. 

When your HVAC system is inspected, the inspector will be able to alert you of any problems that are occurring. You’ll want to have this inspection done before you purchase or sell the house because HVAC system repairs can be quite costly. 

Signs of Pest Infestations

Next, make sure that your home inspector looks for any signs of pest infestations. Pests can be annoying to get rid of. Pests can carry germs or diseases that might put you at risk, especially if you have kids at home. They can also put the structural integrity of your home at risk. 

For example, termites, mice, and other pests can feed on and deteriorate the wood framing in your home. This can make parts of your home less secure. If pest infestations are detected, make sure that you identify the main entryway for pests in your home. Garages and roofs are some of the most common entryways for rodents in your home.

Your Foundation

One of the most important parts of a home inspection is to verify that your home is structurally safe and sound. For this reason, you need to make sure that your home’s foundation is thoroughly inspected. This will help you to ensure that your home will continue to be safe in the future, especially in the event of a natural disaster such as an earthquake. When your foundation is being inspected, they’ll look for cracks and signs of foundational issues both inside and outside the home. Often, a professional inspector will be able to spot signs and issues that you, as a homeowner, would likely overlook. 

 

When you’re buying or selling a home, you want to make sure that the home is inspected to provide the most transparency in your deal. If you have your home inspected, including your HVAC system, signs of pest infestations, and your foundation, it will give the buyer more peace of mind. This will help you to have a more successful and trustworthy home deal.
